Certain products and sub assemblies supplied by Stealth Electronics fall under the scope of the RoHS directive. We are working closely with suppliers to achieve this deadline. At present we are on target to achieve this objective. Cut off dates are in place, with our suppliers, to ensure that non-conforming items are not supplied well before the directive legislation deadline.
Stealth Electronics are in the process of re tooling our manufacturing methods to use only lead free solder and lead free components. This also applies to any product that is presently flow soldered. We are working closely with suppliers to ensure that all manufactured goods will be lead free before the deadline.
In the months that follow Stealth Electronics will begin extensive identification checks of all stock components held at Akenham, Ipswich. All nonconforming parts will be re labelled as Non RoHS. Many other non-specialised items will be disposed of and replaced with conforming items. Any other specialised items remaining, as at the European legislation deadline of 1st July 2006, will be quarantined and withdrawn from production. These items will be used for service and repair only.
